SOLD OUT - VIP Docent Led Tour of the Monet Exhibition at the de Young Museum
Monet at the DeYoung, with a Gauguin chaser.
Join fellow alumni, friends, and family at the de Young Museum for a one-hour exclusive VIP docent led tour of its current, blockbuster exhibition: Monet: The Late Years. Skip the lines, and trace your way through the last 13 years of the career of the Impressionist master via about 100 paintings of his beloved Giverny gardens. Delicate waterlilies, graceful weeping willow trees, Japanese bridge, shimmering waters, and much more in some of the most popular series of his entire career. Learn about Monet's life, his battle with rapidly declining eyesight and evolution of his work through one of the most experimental—and critically renowned—periods of his long career.
Then, after getting your fill of waterlilies, you can take advantage of a complimentary ticket to another special exhibition, Gauguin: A Spiritual Journey, where you will explore the life, art and famous South Pacific visits of this important Post-Impressionist painter, sculptor and ceramicist. You will, of course, also be able to visit any of the museum's other galleries and exhibitions, as well as the Legion of Honor, with its newly opened exhibition, Early Rubens.
Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco Members, and up to one guest, need only pay $10 to help cover our docent for the tour. Note: when you register you will need to provide your membership information to be verified, and you will need to bring your membership card and ID. Additional pricing listed above at a 20% group discounted rate; please bring ID to verify ages for ticket level. Maximum number of tickets per person is 3, and our group is limited to 25 people. A wait list will be created if there is demand.
Meet at the de Young Museum Information Desk, near the museum entrance, at 1:45 p.m.
