This lecture aims to frame and open discussion and debate around technology, markets, and policy drivers for the pharmaceutical and renewable fuel / chemical industries.

Many of us do not consider producers of pharmaceuticals and producers of fuels and chemicals to be likely bedfellows, however, continual technological advances in R&D affirm, that underneath the different policy issues and marketing strategies, product development and manufacturing platforms are very much aligned across the sectors. Ongoing and future collaboration between the two industries along these common approaches and goals can open up new training and mentorship possibilities for aspiring leaders in the Life Sciences. This lecture aims to frame and open discussion and debate around technology, markets, and policy drivers for both the pharmaceutical and the renewable fuel / chemical industries.
